In 2007, Taiwan has already passed the V. 2 GHS chemical classification and labelling and National Standard CNS15030. Now it has been renamed as V. 4.The content of the SDS contains 16 sections.

On 27th June, 2014, Taiwan published the SDS and safety labelling regulation on the basis of the new GHS and name as “Hazardous Chemical Mark and General Regulation” instead of “Hazardous Material and Noxious Substance Mark and General Regulation” which is published in 2007.

The outstanding changes of the new “Regulation”: to the following hazardous ingredient, SDS must show these ingredients’ names and content.

1. Acute toxicity substance Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ

2. Skin corrosion/irritation substance Ⅰ

3. Serious eye damage/eye irritation substance Ⅰ

4. Sensitisation, respiratory/skin substance

5. Germ cell mutagenicity substance

6. Carcinogenicity substance

7. Reproductive toxicity substance

8. Specific target organ toxicity substance, single exposure Ⅰ

9. Specific target organ toxicity substance, repeated exposureⅠ

The Classification of hazardous goods in Taiwan:

Most are as same as the hazardous goods classification of the GHS, but it has some differences. The specific classification can be available on the annex 1 of “Hazardous Chemical Marks and General Regulation”: the classification and labelling of the hazardous chemical.

Labeling refers to the annex 2 of “Hazardous Chemical Marks and General Regulation”.

The format of the marks

Name:

Hazardous ingredient:

Warnings:

Hazard warning information:

Measures to prevent harm:

Manufacturer/importer/supplier:

(1)   name

(2)   address

(3)   telephone number

* more detailed information refer to the SDS

Note:

1. diagram form of hazard, warnings and hazard warning information refer to the regulations on annex table 1;

2. To have two or above diagram forms of the hazard, it should all be listed. The list order should be based on a clear identification. There will be a different order according to the condition of the container.
