Flammable Liquid

Flammable liquid is the liquid material which is easy to burn, such like petrol, ethanol, benzene and so on. Most of these materials are organic compounds and most of them belong to petrochemical products. In Hazard Chemical Contents (2015), there are nearly 800 materials which are classified into flammable liquid.

Definition:

A flammable liquid means a liquid having a flash point of not more than 93 °C.

Criteria

Flash point < 23 °C and initial boiling point ≤ 35 °C

2

Flash point < 23 °C and initial boiling point > 35 °C

3

Flash point ≥ 23 °C and ≤ 60 °C

4

Flash point > 60 °C and ≤ 93 °C

Note: Although flammable liquid is classified into 4 categories, some countries do not adopt category 4 (H227: Combustible liquid), such as Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
