GHS Category -- Pressurized Chemicals

GHS definition:

Pressurized chemicals are liquids or solids (e.g. pastes or powders) that are pressurized to 200 kPa (gauge pressure) or higher by a gas at 20 ° C in a pressure reservoir other than an aerosol spray tank.

GHS classification criteria:

Any pressurized chemical meeting the following values:

(a) Containing ≥ 85% flammable ingredients (by mass); and

(b) heat of combustion ≥ 20 kJ/g.

Any pressurized chemical meeting the following values:

(a) Containing > 1% flammable ingredients (by mass); and

(b) heat of combustion < 20 kJ/g;

Or:

(a) Containing < 85% flammable ingredients (by mass); and

(b) heat of combustion ≥ 20 kJ/g.

Any pressurized chemical meeting the following values:

(a) Containing ≤ 1% flammable component (by mass); and

(b) heat of combustion < 20 kJ/g.

 

Examples of pressurized chemicals:
