China

GB-T 16483-2008

GB-T 17519-2013

▪ Different requirements for trade Confidential information (CBI)

In the United States, substances with certain special hazards (substances with carcinogenic and other classification) can not hide their names and other information (after approval by relevant departments, you can), in addition to substances with physical hazards and final classification. China is different. Under Chinese regulations, you can hide information about these substances, but the hazards must be disclosed.

▪ The chapters in SDS have different requirements

In China, each of the 16 items of SDS has mandatory requirements, but the United States is different, the United States does not make mandatory requirements for 12-15 items of SDS, but it is recommended to write.

▪ Some of the relevant regulations in the SDS are different

The occupational exposure limits of Part 8 differ between the United States and China, and then Part 15 some have different regulations on the healthy environment category.

▪ Hazard categories vary

Because the Chinese classification standard and the United States classification standard refer to the United Nations GHS version, some hazard categories or hazard labels are different, such as the expression of "aerosol" : the fourth edition is "aerosol", and the third edition is "flammable aerosol".

▪ Different classification modules

Some classifications are not used in the United States, such as: Acute toxicity, category 5. It works in China.

▪ Different requirements for small labels (simple labels)

Some products take into account the limitations of the size of their products, such as ampoules, the label will be small, and there will be corresponding requirements different from ordinary labels in the preparation of the label. China has relevant regulations, while the United States does not have relevant regulations for the time being (but you can also refer to the United Nations requirements for small labels).

China: At present, China's GHS-related standards have not changed, but the Standardization Administration has issued new regulations on GHS, which have not been implemented yet. The standard number is: GB 30000.1-201x General Code of Practice for the Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (replaces GB 13690), GB 30000.30-201x, as amended by the 7th Revision of the United Nations GHS. Some things will change after the new standard is enforced, which is expected in 6 months, so stay tuned.

United States: The United States has not updated the relevant regulations.
