Notice of China GHS on soliciting opinions on the Code for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals Part 1: General Principles

On June 14, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice on soliciting opinions on the mandatory national standards of the "Classification and Labeling of Chemicals Part 1: General Provisions" (soliciting comments draft) in the National Standards Information Public service platform.
The national standard plan "Classification and Labeling of chemicals Part 1: General Principles" was drafted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and entrusted to the "National Technical Committee for Standardization of Hazardous Chemicals Management". Proposed implementation date: 3 months after the release of the official implementation.
GB 3000.1 20XX "Specification for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals Part 1: General Principles" will replace: GB 13690-2009 when officially released. The new regulations are in line with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) (eighth Revision) on technology.
The main changes of this regulation compared with GB 13690-2009 are as follows:

Summary: China's original GHS standard refers to the fourth revised version of the United Nations GHS, which was released in 2013: GB30000.2-2013 ~ GB30000.29-2013 (missing GB 30000.1), and now China's GHS regulations have finally been revised, and the new regulations refer to the eighth version. The publication of the consultation draft of the new regulation means that the implementation of the new regulation is not far away, and the latest version of the Joint GHS is currently 9th.
