Posted Date:2023/12/6
What are the "Principles for the definition and determination of Hazardous Chemicals" in the List of Hazardous Chemicals?
At the time of formulating the list, according to the United Nations "Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals" (GHS), China has developed a series of standards for the classification and labeling of chemical hazards, and established a classification system of 28 categories of chemical hazards. However, it does not apply to all classification modules within the United Nations GHS. All chemicals in the classification system are hazardous chemicals, and the specific definition and determination principles are as follows:
Definition: highly toxic chemicals and other chemicals with toxic, corrosive, explosive, combustion, combustive and other properties that are harmful to human body, facilities and the environment.
Determination principle: The varieties of hazardous chemicals are determined from the following categories of hazardous and hazardous characteristics according to the national standards for chemical classification and labeling:
1. Physical danger
Explosives: Unstable explosives, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4.
2. Health hazard
Acute toxicity: Class 1, Class 2, Class 3.
3. Environmental hazard
Hazards to aquatic environment - Acute Hazards: Category 1, Category 2
Special attention: the above three types of hazards are only one example, detailed in the regulations.
Example: The product is an air freshener, category: H222: extremely flammable aerosol. H229: Pressure vessel: explodes when heated.
Compliance with "Principles for the Definition and determination of Hazardous Chemicals" in the List of Hazardous Chemicals (2015 edition) (Yes/No) : Yes.
