Certain definitions in the transport of dangerous goods

Dangerous goods refer to substances and articles that require special protection because of their dangerous properties such as explosion, inflammability, poisoning, infection and corrosion, and are likely to cause personal injury or death, property damage or environmental pollution during production, operation, transportation, storage, use and disposal. Dangerous goods are divided into nine categories according to their main types of danger, and each category is divided into several sub-categories.
Some of these professions are defined as follows:
Aerosol or sprayer:
Means an article consisting of a non-refillable reservoir conforming to the requirements of 6.2.4, made of metal, glass or plastic, containing a compressed, liquefied or pressurized dissolved gas, with or without a liquid, paste or powder, and equipped with a release device allowing the contents to be ejected as solid or liquid particles suspended in a gas, The ejecta may be in the form of foam, paste or powder, or liquid or gas.
Bag:
Flexible packaging made of paper, plastic film, textiles, woven materials or other appropriate materials.
Box:
A complete rectangular or polygonal package made of metal, wood, plywood, recycled wood, fiberboard, plastic or other appropriate material; For purposes such as ease of moving or opening, or to meet classification requirements, small openings are allowed, provided that the opening does not compromise the integrity of the package during transport.
Bulk container:
A packaging system (including all linings or coatings) for the transport of solid substances in which the solid substances are in direct contact with the packaging system. Packaging, medium bulk containers, large packaging and removable tank cabinets are not included.
Carrier:
Means any person, institution or government department carrying dangerous goods by any means of transport. The term includes both leased or paid carriers (called common carriers or contract carriers in some countries) and self-employed carriers (called private carriers in some countries).
Combination package:
A group of packages grouped together for the purpose of transportation consisting of one or more inner packages fixed in an outer package in accordance with 4.1.1.5
Conveyance:
(a) Any vehicle used for road or rail transport.
(b) any ship used for water transport, or any hold, compartment or restricted deck area of the ship.
(c) Any aircraft used for air transport.
