Definition and Determination Principle of Hazardous Chemicals

Posted Date:2020/11/11

Definition: highly toxic chemicals and other chemicals with toxic, corrosive, explosive, burning, combustion-supporting properties and harmful to humans, facilities, and the environment.

Determination principle: The types of hazardous chemicals are determined from the following categories of hazard and hazard characteristics according to the national standards for chemical classification and labeling:

1. Physical hazard

Explosives: unstable explosives, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4.

Flammable gas: category 1, category 2, chemically unstable gas category A, chemically unstable gas category B.

Aerosol (also known as aerosol): Category 1.

Oxidizing gas: Category 1.

Pressurized gas: compressed gas, liquefied gas, refrigerated liquefied gas, dissolved gas.

Flammable liquids: category 1, category 2, category 3.

Flammable solids: category 1, category 2.

Self-reactive substances and mixtures: Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, Type E.

Spontaneous combustion liquid: Category 1.

Pyrophoric solid: Category 1.

Self-heating substances and mixtures: category 1, category 2.

Substances and mixtures that emit flammable gases in contact with water: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3.

Oxidizing liquid: category 1, category 2, category 3.

Oxidizing solids: category 1, category 2, category 3.

Organic peroxides: Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, Type E, Type F.

Metal corrosives: Category 1.

2. Health hazard

Acute toxicity: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3.

Skin corrosion/irritation: Category 1A, Category 1B, Category 1C, Category 2.

Serious eye damage/eye irritation: Category 1, Category 2A, Category 2B.

Respiratory tract or skin sensitization: respiratory sensitizer 1A, respiratory sensitizer 1B, skin sensitizer 1A, skin sensitizer 1B.

Germ cell mutagenicity: Category 1A, Category 1B, Category 2.

Carcinogenicity: Category 1A, Category 1B, Category 2.

Reproductive toxicity: category 1A, category 1B, category 2, additional category.

Specific target organ toxicity-single exposure: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3.

Specific target organ toxicity-repeated exposure: Category 1, Category 2.

Aspiration hazard: Category 1.

3. Environmental hazards

Harm to the aquatic environment-acute hazard: category 1, category 2;

Harm to the aquatic environment-long-term hazard: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3.

Hazard to the ozone layer: Category 1.

Hazardous chemicals production and import enterprises should follow the classification information of various hazardous chemicals listed in the hazardous chemical classification information table, in accordance with the "chemical classification and labeling specifications" series of standards (GB 30000.2-2013 ~ GB 30000.29-2013) and " Regulations on the Preparation of Chemical Safety Labels (GB 15258-2009) and other national standards and regulations, scientifically and accurately determine the hazard statements, warning words, pictograms and precautionary statements of the company’s chemicals, compile or update chemical safety technical specifications, Safety labels and other hazardous chemical registration information, and do a good job of chemical hazard notification and information transmission.
