Harmful Ingredients in Insecticidal Aerosol
Posted Date:2020/11/27
Insecticide aerosol is a kind of daily chemical commonly used to kill mosquitoes, cockroaches and bed bugs. There are many varieties on the market, but most of the effective insecticidal ingredients are pyrethroids. The pests become aerated by contact or inhalation. The pyrethroid in the sol state was poisoned and died. To make pyrethroid quickly become aerosol, organic solvents such as benzene, xylene and toluene are also added.
Insecticide aerosol is not only toxic to humans, but also a large number of auxiliary components. Pyrethroids are moderately or low-toxic substances and have a greater impact on the human nervous system. Long-term exposure can cause dizziness, headache, nerve paresthesia and even nerve palsy. Benzene and its homologues in auxiliary components can damage the blood system and have the potential risk of inducing bone marrow suppression and leukemia.
Information on harmful ingredients:
Pyrethroids:
A class of biomimetic synthetic insecticides are synthetic esters derived from the chemical structure of natural pyrethrins. Natural pyrethrin is an ancient plant insecticide and an effective ingredient of pyrethrum chrysanthemum. Its chemical structure was not determined until the 1940s. Since then, research on the synthesis of similar substances has begun. When the mixed insecticide of pyrethroid and organophosphate causes acute poisoning, the toxicity of organophosphate insecticide is significantly higher than that of pyrethroid vinegar. The clinical manifestation of poisoned person is generally similar to that of acute organophosphate insecticide poisoning. The blood cholinesterase is tested first, and the diagnosis is made according to the diagnostic criteria for occupational acute organophosphate pesticide poisoning. Pyrethroids are broad-spectrum insecticides that can control a variety of pests. Their insecticidal virulence is 10-100 times higher than that of older generation insecticides such as organochlorine, organophosphorus and carbamates.
The hazard information about the product can be learned from the SDS and label provided by the supplier:
Hazard classification is based on China (Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals (2015 Edition) (Annex: Information Sheet for Classification of Hazardous Chemicals) under the guidance of GHS):
